The fantastic Cayo Guillermo is one of the most visited islands of Cuba. It makes part of the archipelago named the Jardines del Rey (King’s Gardens). The island is quite small, but very attractive. The major highlight of the island is its five km long pristine beach. The waters surrounding the island are warm and clear, perfect for swimming. Besides, there are wonderful coral reefs in the sea which attract numerous divers. Cayo Guillermo is the perfect destination for the lovers of beach holidays and for those looking for peaceful atmosphere. Tourist information

As I already mentioned it, the small island of Cayo Guillermo is part of the Jardines del Rey archipelago. The nearest island is Cayo Media Luna. Cayo Coco is also situated closely to the island. Cayo Coco is connected by a causeway to the mainland, while Cayo Guillermo is connected by a road with Cayo Coco. So, if you would like to get to Cayo Guillermo, you have to go first to Cayo Coco.

The wonderful island is a hot spot for tourists, owning some of the Caribbean region’s most scenic beaches. If you would like to have an unforgettable holiday, choose Cayo Guillermo. You won’t regret it.

The beaches

The scenic beaches are some of the most popular in the country and even in the entire Caribbean region. All the beaches are situated in the northern part of the island. There are three beaches on the island. These are five kilometers long, but they are separated by ancient coral reefs which are now emerged.

The most popular and most beautiful of them all is Playa Pilar. The sand is soft and white and the waters are warm and crystal clear. It is a beautiful beach with numerous facilities, making it a favorite for numerous tourists.

There are three fantastic hotel chains in Cayo Guillermo: the famous Sol Melia group with two hotels, the Gran Caribe with one hotel and the Iberostar with another one. All the hotels have direct access to the Playa Del Paso beach which offers lounge chairs and palapas. Besides, the hotels offer excellent All Inclusive packages, fantastic activities, swimming pools, non motorized water sports and other services.

The island of Cayo Guillermo offers the possibility of practicing numerous activities. Scuba diving, kitesurfing, spa services, boat trips and other water sports are the most popular activities here.
