Maria la Gorda – Guanahacabibes Peninsula

It is a biosphere reserve located in the western end of Cuba. Maria la Gorda is one of the most hardly accessible areas in the Caribbean Sea, but those who succeed to get there, will be rewarded with fantastic snorkeling possibilities. The marine life at Maria la Gorda is considered to be one of the most interesting ones in the Caribbean Sea, due to the great variety of the fauna and the extraordinary black corals. The underwater-landscape is breathtaking, with caves and mysterious shipwrecks. Besides the gorgeous corals, among the animals that can be found here are hundreds of colorful fishes, crusts, barracudas, murrains and also sharks. Maria la Gorda is the perfect choice for the lovers of snorkeling.

Cayo las Brujas


Located in the central part of Cuba, north of Santa Clara, this amazing beach is one of the most beautiful and unspoiled beaches of the country. It is also considered one of the best snorkeling sites in Cuba. While snorkeling at Cayo las Brujas, you will be amazed by the vibrant underwater life: the beautiful coral reefs, the hundreds of colorful fishes, turtles, barracudas and dolphins. With shallow reefs and crystal clear water, Cayo las Brujas offers magnificent snorkeling opportunities.


Playa Esmeralda


Located on the northern coast of Holguin, about 72 km of the Holguin Airport, Playa Esmeralda is a beautiful beach resort in Cuba. The white sandy beach and clear water is an ideal place for families. The distance offshore is very little and there are fantastic coral reefs in the sea, offering you great snorkeling and scuba diving possibilities. Snorkelers can get easily very close to the hundreds of beautiful and interesting underwater species.

The Bay of Pigs – Zapata Peninsula

The bay is situated in the Gulf of Cazones, on the southern coast of Cuba. There are hundreds of species of fish and coral that live just a few meters offshore. There are two popular destinations in the bay: Playa Larga and Playa Giron. Playa Giron is the top attraction of the Bay of Pigs. Also an unforgettable place for snorkeling is Caleta Buena. This area is popular for its fantastic underwater caves. The underwater life is represented by gorgonians, sponges and corals, among other animals and plants.
