The Western Sydney Wanderers have secured their first victory of the Ninja A-League season, edging Brisbane Roar 1-0 at Spencer Park on Sunday afternoon thanks to a late Olivia Price strike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Wanderers signalled their intent early, weathering Brisbane\u2019s first real threat when Sham Khamis produced a sharp one-on-one save in the fourth minute to deny Grace Kuilamu. From there, the Red & Black settled quickly and began to dictate play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Down the right, Danika Matos made an immediate impact. Her combination with Talia Younis sparked an early chance, and another dangerous delivery moments later earned the Wanderers their first corner as momentum swung firmly their way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With confident spells of possession, Western Sydney continued to probe. Ena Harada linked well with Sony, whose powerful effort in the box was kept out by goalkeeper ChloeLincoln. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Captain Amy Harrison came inches away from a spectacular opener, spotting Lincoln off her line but sending her long-range attempt agonisingly wide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Holly Caspers and Sony kept the Brisbane defence under pressure late in the half, but Lincoln again stood tall to turn away a deflected effort just before the break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Geoff Abraham’s side remained composed in the second half, strengthening their push with the introductions of\u00a0Allyssa Ng-Saad,\u00a0Janae De Fazio,\u00a0Olivia Price, and\u00a0Nikita Fazzari\u00a0across a well-managed rotation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winner finally arrived in the 87th minute. Ella Buchanan latched onto a cross inside the area and showed brilliant awareness to square the ball to substitute Olivia Price, who guided home the decisive finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A deserved reward for a dominant performance and a crucial first three points of the season for the Red & Black.
