Western Sydney Wanderers FC recently hosted the 13th annual\u00a0Parliamentary Friends of the Wanderers\u00a0event at the Parliament of New South Wales, bringing together Members of Parliament, club representatives, and players to celebrate the positive impact of football across Western Sydney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a0Parliamentary Friends of the Wanderers\u00a0is a bipartisan group of New South Wales Members of Parliament who share a passion for football and a commitment to supporting the game\u2019s growth at both the grassroots and elite levels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group was established to recognise the role that sport plays in fostering social connection, promoting inclusion, and creating opportunities for young people in Western Sydney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s event was timed to coincide with the commencement of the club\u2019s\u00a0Isuzu UTE A-League Men\u00a0and\u00a0Ninja A-League Women\u2019s\u00a0seasons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A number of players from both teams were in attendance, alongside club executives, and members of the wider Wanderers community. Guests had the opportunity to hear about the club\u2019s upcoming season, community priorities, and initiatives aimed at expanding participation and engagement across the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Wanderers were honoured to welcome Members of Parliament from across the political spectrum, reflecting the shared recognition of football\u2019s unifying power and its ability to inspire the next generation of athletes and fans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event also served as a platform to highlight the club\u2019s long-standing partnerships with government, community organisations, and local councils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Western Sydney Wanderers would like to acknowledge the\u00a0ongoing support of the NSW Government, whose investment and collaboration have been instrumental in delivering a range of community programs and initiatives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These include the club\u2019s\u00a0After-School\u00a0and\u00a0Mobile Schools\u00a0programs, as well as broader activities aimed at increasing participation among\u00a0women and girls,\u00a0people with disability, and\u00a0multicultural and Indigenous communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
