The Reclaim the Game partnership is set to continue to address the normalisation of sports betting and advertising in sport, as well as continue to raise community awareness of the risks of gambling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Wanderers were the first A-League club to partner with GambleAware in an effort to provide a more family-friendly sporting experience at CommBank Stadium so that members and fans could enjoy the game without betting getting in the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Research has found that many young people think sports betting is normal, and just over a third reported that gambling ads had increased their knowledge of gambling options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Red & Black together with GambleAware will continue to educate their members, fans, players, staff, and community on the importance of the Reclaim the Game program and how to be more gamble aware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Launching their 2021\/22 campaign today, produced by Chisel, with players from the club\u2019s ISUZU Ute A-League and A-League Women\u2019s sides, the campaign encourages Wanderers\u2019 members and fans to get back to what football is all about and not let a bet take you away from the match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Western Sydney Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas said it was important for the club to play its part in spreading the message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt is very important to us to continue to build on our relationship with GambleAware as this is an issue that affects a lot of our Western Sydney community,\u201d said Tsatsimas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTogether with GambleAware and their campaign to Reclaim the Game, we hope to educate and create greater awareness of the impact that sports betting can have in professional sport.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Office of Responsible Gambling Director Natalie Wright spoke highly of the partnership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
